Joy to the world  »«  Kersliederen :: Christmas carols

Words adapted from Psalm 98 by Isaac Watts, 1719.
Music by George F. Handel, 1742. Public Domain.

C   Dm   C   G   C
Joy to the world! The Lord is come;
F  G   C
Let earth receive her King.
C
Let every heart prepare Him room,
C
And heav'n and nature sing,
G
And heav'n and nature sing,
C   F   C   Dm  C   G7  C
And heav'n and heav'n and nature sing.

Additional Verses:
Joy to the world! The Savior reigns;
Let men their songs employ.
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders of His love.

Let it snow  »«  Kersliederen :: Christmas carols

Sammy Cahn, J.Styne (c) 1945

F C7 F
Oh, the weather outside is frightful,
F Abdim C7
But the fire is so delightful,
Gm D7 Gm
And since we've no place to go,
C7 F
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

F C7 F
It doesn't show signs of stopping,
F Abdim C7
And I brought some corn for popping.
Gm D7 Gm
The lights are turned way down low,
C7 F
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

C
When we finally kiss good night,
Dm G7 C
How I'll hate going out in the storm.
C
But if you really hold me tight,
D7 G7 C7
All the way home I'll be warm.

F C7 F
The fire is slowly dying,
F Abdim C7
And, my dear, we're still good-bye-ing,
Gm D7 Gm
But as long as you love me so.
C7 F
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

What child is this  »«  Kersliederen :: Christmas carols

Dm C Dm A7
Dm C Dm A7 Dm

chorus:
C C7 Dm A7
C C7 Dm A7 Dm

What Child is this who, laid to rest
On Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom Angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing;
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Why lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christians, fear, for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.

Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,
The cross be borne for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh,
Come peasant, king to own Him;
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.

Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby.
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

That hailed the Savior’s birth.

Down in a lowly manger
The humble Christ was born
And God sent us salvation
That blessèd Christmas morn.

Jingle bells  »«  Kersliederen :: Christmas carols

James Pierpont :1857

[D]Dashing through the snow
On a one-horse open [G]sleigh
[Em]O'er the fields we [A7]go
Laughing all the [D]way
Bells on bob-tail ring making spirits [G]bright
What [Em]fun it is to [D]ride and sing
A [A7]sleighing song [D]tonight
[A7] Oh,
[D]Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle [G]all the [D]way
[G]Oh, what fun it [D]is to ride
In a [E7]one-horse open [A7]sleigh
[D]Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle [G]all the [D]way
[G]Oh, what fun it [D]is to ride
In a [A7]one-horse open [D]sleigh.

C F
Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh,
G7 C
O'er the fields we go, laughing all the way,
C F
Bells on bobtails ring, making spirits bright,
G7 C
What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight, oh

Chorus:
C C7
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
F C D7 G7
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh, hey,
C C7
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
F C G7 C
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.

Other verses:
A day or two ago,
I thought I'd take a ride,
And soon Miss Fanny Bright
Was seated by my side;
The horse was lean and lank;
Misfortune seemed his lot;
He got into a drifted bank,
And we, we got upsot.

A day or two ago,
the story I must tell
I went out on the snow
And on my back I fell;
A gent was riding by
In a one-horse open sleigh,
He laughed as there
I sprawling lie,
But quickly drove away.

Now the ground is white
Go it while you're young,
Take the girls tonight
And sing this sleighing song;
Just get a bob-tailed bay
two-forty as his speed
Hitch him to an open sleigh
And crack! you'll take the lead.

There is a lot of young individuals who do possses musical talent of note who don't follow through. Creativity is either a gift or something that is worked at. As Tamara pointed out Sonic Producer is a great tool that allows the young aspiring musican to create or lyrics or poetry. It's easy and fun to use. At the end you can download your tunes as Mp3 s and share it with friends or YouTube it!!
