I think that Halloween is celebration of dead, and all have to wear scary costumes, and not when blondies looks like whores, and cute ponies.

let kids go trick-or-treat
Trick-or-treating is a great adventure for young kids; parents and older siblings can accompany the wee ones until they're old enough to navigate the neighborhood. If "trunk-or-treat" is an add-on to traditional Halloween trick-or-treating, it's probably harmless. Same goes for stores and malls that have trick-or-treat events.
However, stories abound of stingy adults who get angry when "Those Kids" (i.e., children of different races or socio-economic classes) go trick-or-treating in their neighborhoods. It strikes me that trunk-or-treat is a way to keep the uninvited riff-raff out in favor of an invitation-only candy fest strictly for "Our Kids." And of course it plays into urban legends about the dangers of Halloween as well as parental fears.
I just pass out candy until it's gone, then blow out the candles in the jack-o-lanterns and turn off the porch light.
Hope you all had an eerie halloween
