Goede vlucht gehad. Bij aankomst op de luchthaven van Delhi vroeg de ambtenaar van de immigratiedienst mij :" mam how come you look like one of us but your lastname is so strange. Welcome back home." Ik heb alleen maar gelachen en het daarbij gelaten.
Toen begon de rit van ruim 7 uur met de taxi naar Haridwar. Wat een ervaring. Niet te geloven. Een tweebaans weg wordt gebruikt alsof het een vijfbaans weg is. Desondanks gaat het vrij geordend. Iedereen maakt ruimbaan voor de ander. Ook begreep ik waarom het zeven uur moest duren. De auto ging niet harder dan 80km per uur. De afstand van Delhi naar Haridwar is 205 km. Ondanks het tijdstip was het behoorlijk druk op de weg. Geen enkele weggebruiker had achterlichten. En de tegenliggers hadden allemaal hun grote lichten aan.
De eerste twee dagen waren er een van indrukken opdoen en verwerken van wat ik zag. Ik had het gevoel ontheemd te zijn. Hetgeen ook zo was natuurlijk. Ik vroeg mij af wat ik hier deed. Waarom had ik mijn vertrouwde omgeving achtergelaten om naar dit vreemde land te komen?
Maar nu ik een paar dagen hier ben begin ik te genieten. Wat een belevenissen. Wat een geluiden. Af en toe wordt ik daar gek van. Het is er nooit stil. Altijd is er weer een geluid. Er wordt aldoor getoeterd. Het maakt niet uit of het midden in de nacht is. Ze moeten zich laten horen.
Ik geniet van het lekkere eten in de ashram. Wat kookt de kokkin verrukkelijk. En dat voor circa 500 mensen. In de ashram wonen jongens die daar naar toe komen als ze 6 jaar oud zijn. Ze krijgen een opleiding in sanskriet en kunnen pandit worden. Ook is er een officiele yoga opleiding. Ik doe elke morgen met de leerlingen van de yoga opleiding mee. Een hele zware training. Ik heb dan ook ontzettend veel spierpijn. Maar het resultaat zal er hopelijk wel naar zijn. Het is een aantal jaren geleden dat ik aan yoga heb gedaan. Toch is het best te doen. Behalve de astanga yoga. Dat is power yoga.
Ik kan pas vandaag weer aan mijn blog werken want de server van het inerne cafe lag eruit.
