Er werken vier mensen in de keuken van de ashram. Een vrouw en drie mannen. Een van de mannen is doof en stom. Er wordt keihard gewerkt door deze vier mensen. Ze werken zeven dagen in de week van vijf uur 's ochtends tot 9 uur 's avonds. Ze hebben nooit een vrije dag want de jongens en de leraren moeten 3x per dag eten.
De pannen waarin gekookt wordt zijn zo groot als een jacuzzi. Je zou er met gemak in kunnen zitten. Elke dag wordt er voor de armen uit de omgeving gekookt. Ze komen dan met een bak voor erwtensoep en de zak of een doek voor de rijst en roti.
De arme kinderen zijn te vies om aan te kijken laatstaan om aan te raken. Ik begrijp niet waarom ze niet worden gewassen. Desnoods in de ganges, zoals zoveel anderen ook doen.
